Sangiovese Hilltops

Description

An old world wine variety with a new world feel, our 2022 Sangiovese is a medium pale ruby and shines like the jewel itself. On the nose we enjoy aromas of red currants and cherries, speckled with spicy delights of vanilla, clove and sweet liquorice. Percolated coffee grinds and earthy highlights round out this enticing experience. Medium bodied and packed full of surprises, the palate is no shrinking violet but remains subtle and with a multitude of layers. Crunchy cranberries are well supported by powdery tannins and a fine acid line. Cooked rhubarb, red cherries and five spice give mid palate weight and lingering flavour. Drinking well now and over the next 5 years. At a recent wine dinner in Sydney at the now closed One Penny Red, Steve from cellar door was part of the Glandore team that night and he thought the Berkshire rosemary rolled porchetta was an amazing match for this wine.
