Description
Always eagerly anticipated, our Hamish is the true icon wine in the Glandore portfolio, and we know we have something special here. Deep, rich, and full flavoured, that’s how we know you like these wines. Dark red plums are the dominant aroma with complexities of sarsaparilla, walnut shell and saline olive brine folding in underneath. Traces of delicious caramel fudge can be enjoyed lurking in the background as well. As a young wine, the structure is tight and very lineal on the palate, and this is what provides the backbone for our 22 Hamish enjoying a long and lustrous aging potential. Bountiful red fruits are up front while the A-line of acidity carries the wine through to the back palate where the tannins kick in and coat the mouth. Wooded spices of clove and nutmeg sing from the time spent in French oak puncheons and add further depth to the wine. Cellaring 10+ years and a joy to drink every step of the way. Looking for something rich and hearty with this one and we enjoyed our 2022 Hamish with a traditional Greek Moussaka with egg plant on the first Friday in November 2023 and it was a great match.
