White Label Pinot Gris Tumbarumba 2023

Description

From ensuring we retain as much of the natural grape character as possible our Pinot Gris retains a soft pink hue. This grape variety is more bronze in colour than white and retaining some of that essence is to be expected when we refrain from decolourising the wine with finings. On the nose we enjoy generous and lively Kiwi fruit aromatics, and these fresh and clean characters are underwritten by subtle chai spices and savoury highlights. The palate is open and quite generous up front before the orange-pulp acidity moves things to the back palate. Phenolics of nashi pear skin give texture and structure to the wine and subtle Thompson grape flavours (think Woollies) are in view but all of these are quite subtle as they normally would be in this variety. Enjoy this wine in its youth over the next 3 years. A lunch time style that calls for sunshine and a French niçoise salad. Fitting for the French style of Gris this wine is made.
